Lost or don’t have the PIN on a Beelink Mini MX TV Box

If a client cannot unlock their Beelink Mini MX because they don’t have the PIN, follow these simple steps. Start with the safe checks and move to a factory reset only when necessary. Factory reset erases all data — warn the client before doing it.

Quick checklist before you start

  • TV and Beelink box are plugged in and powered.
  • Remote control with fresh batteries is at hand.
  • Small paperclip or pin (for the reset hole) ready.
  • Client understands a factory reset will delete apps, accounts and files on the box.

Step 1 — Try the easy PINs first

Ask the client to try these common default PINs (one at a time):
0000 , 1234 , 1111 , 9999 , 000000 , 123456
Also try the PIN shown in the quick start guide or on the box paperwork. Some launchers use 0000 or 1234 by default.

Step 2 — Soft reboot (quick, no data loss)

  1. Turn the box off from the remote or unplug the power.
  2. Wait 20–30 seconds.
  3. Plug the box back in and power it on.
  4. Try the PIN again.
This clears small glitches that sometimes block the login screen.

Step 3 — If the PIN is a launcher/parental PIN (try this)

Some boxes use a launcher app or parental lock that can be removed if you can reach Settings. If the device already accepts any input (for example guest mode), try:

  1. Open Settings → Apps and locate the launcher or parental app.
  2. Clear data or uninstall the launcher.
If you cannot access Settings because of the lock, skip to Step 4.

Step 4 — Factory reset via recovery (recommended method when PIN is lost)

Warning: This deletes all user data on the box. Only proceed with client approval.

Method A — Reset hole / pinhole (common on Beelink boxes)

  1. Unplug the power.
  2. Locate the small RESET pinhole on the box (usually near USB or AV ports).
  3. Insert a paperclip and press/hold the reset button.
  4. While holding the reset pin, plug the power back in and keep holding for 8–15 seconds until the box shows a recovery or boot logo.
  5. Release the pin. The device should boot to the recovery menu.
  6. Use the remote (or volume buttons if remote does not work) to select Wipe data / Factory reset and confirm.
  7. After the reset finishes, choose Reboot system now.

Method B — Volume + Power (alternative for some models)

  1. Unplug the box.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up (or Volume Down) button on the box.
  3. While holding it, plug in the power and keep holding until recovery appears.
  4. Use the menu to Wipe data / Factory reset, then Reboot.

Step 5 — After the reset — first-time setup

  1. Let the box boot fully.
  2. Reconnect Wi-Fi and sign in to any accounts (Google, etc.).
  3. Set a new PIN the client will remember. Suggest writing it down securely.
  4. Reinstall needed apps from Google Play and restore files from backup (if they have one).

Step 6 — If recovery methods fail or you don’t want to reset

  • Ask the client to contact Beelink support or the seller. Provide model number and serial.
  • If the box is under warranty, professional service is safer than more risky attempts.
  • As a last resort, take the device to a local technician who has experience with Android TV boxes.
